62 km north-west of the city of Ioannina you can find Papigo, probably the most idyllic area in the region of Zagori. The two villages - the Mikro (Small) and the Megalo (Big) Papigo - are built using locally sourced stone, and the traditional architecture of Zagori. Τhey were both nominated as preservation zones by the Ministry of Culture.

IOANNIDIS Traditional Pension.

It has been a pension since 1980, based upon specifications laid down by the Greek Tourism Organization. It was built prior to 1813, and has been fully renovated inside, with all respect to its special character.
Its privileged location offers a great view not only of the village, but also of the imposing mass of the Astraka mountain: and when the weather is good enough, there is nothing better than a delicious cup of coffee in the garden!
